After the Gold Rush !!!

I couldn't stand it much longer ... I excused myself from the group to slip out and reach my flat as soon as possible to get a good nap ... It is already 12.45 ... I am standing here in a by-lane of Bangalore city with a couple of friends most of whom were also from top IT firms in Bangalore, all gathered there to talk "Business"

Thanks to one of my innocent friend, I ended up in between them in the middle of the night, to get a lecture on how to earn big bucks "PER WEEK" ... I was going to sleep and was greedily looking at my bed to catch a good night sleep when my innocent friend called me in my cell, " Am ...coming over.... I just got out of office ... there is an urgent matter “, as always ... even if I may not be of that much help, I am all ears when it comes to my friends to discuss there problems. I invited him to come to my flat, keeping aside my sleep for some time to discuss his urgent matter. After 15 more minutes he called me up to tell me he's impatiently standing in front of my flat gate , asking me to come down . I rushed down wearing my night dress, just carrying my cell phone.

"Get on the bike we'll go to a friends place ... " Okie, no need to question it ... urgent matters ought to be discussed better at friends place than in the street and at this time of the night. I got on the bike and started my journey to " The world of unlimited opportunities" ... I was shivering but did not bother to discuss it with my friend , whom to me seemed to be pretty tense .

We reached the friends place with in a few minutes ride, a respectable double storied building. But it looked not the "bachelors den" kind of a place ... We got in, when a couple of my friends - friends also joined in and we started exchanging a few smiles and handshakes ... We entered the house and in the first sight, it reminded me about the Tuition classes I used to attend during the worst period of my life, the entrance preparation. The big hurdle upon crossing which, all these troubles started. The house had a some rooms with white marker boards and so0me chairs. I thought... “How sweet these guys must also be taking tuition classes for the local students” ...but within a short while, I realized that ... it was us ... who are going to be the students in this class. Even before I got an opportunity to understand what was happening, we were sweetly guided into a small room, in which we were going to be given the "Unlimited business opportunity” of our life time.

There were three of us - new folks and a couple of others , within a few minutes ... a young man entered into the room , on whose arrival the couple of other guys who was with us stood up , just like we used to do when our teachers entered the classes . Again my thoughts rang bells , we'll he must me somebody pretty respectable around here ... I also stood up , I was never hesitant to respect someone whom my peers respected . He took out a pen and paper and describing the "Business opportunity” ...

I have read about this small room talk, somewhere ... ah!...yes .... It was about the negotiations ... take your opponent off his feet by putting him in a place where you are the boss ... Nice.... well employed in this small class room.... “I am sure off my feet" but not off my senses...

Let me describe the business opportunity !... sorry guys , forgot to mention it ... before reading it ...These are strictly my views ... I don't want to loose friends who are already in the Rush or who will Rush after it , from now on ... I love you all !....

My Guru !... the respectable young man who entered the room sat down in the middle of the room , and guided all of us to be as near to him as possible so that , we may not miss any of these so called opportunity , the mathematics was all very simple . It was all based on gold - the precious metal and some eminent personalities.


- You buy one coin with picture of” Sachin”

- (In case) Sachin dies. [It better that he become immortal, for Indian cricket]

- You sell your coin in auction.

- Earn Millions...

Question : What if others also have the coin?
Guru : We will make only limited coins ...just 99999999 so that it won’t loose value.... everyone will be running after you for it ... then will you throw it away .So what if you give a bit money extra for the coin now , you can earn big later ... It's just thrice the amount of the gold.


Question : So guru, why this much large amount?
Guru : Man, please understand the coin that we are making is no small thing.... It's made of the best gold, and do you think sachin will agree to print his face in the coin; the whole lot of money goes to his mom and dad who will give us permission to print his face. We are even selling all the gods, face too...

Question: Whom do you get authority for printing all these gods’ faces?...Gods themselves or the priests ...or you pray for it?
Guru : - still unanswered - (tactfully slipped through)

Guru : Look here, see after you Refer, some of your friends drawing some figures on the piece of papers, you will start getting cheques for making your friends join in.
Me (thinking) : Wow! ... Good god ... I have done that exercise of joining dots in my 3rd standard.

Umm...Cheques! great !!!.....

Guru (sounding a bit sad) : But you can make only ...69020202027373 per week!!!....That is the limitation. There are few of us, who are making this same amount for the past whole year,

Me (thinking) : Wow! gr8 ...then why are you bothering us .... Please leave me alone .....Please...

Guru : I don't have any personal benefit from this , I am just doing this due to dedication .

Me (thinking) : Yes !..That I can see...but I don't want to ....why wasting our time , can't you even once ask ...are you interested ....

Guru : Okie ... so , again playing the joining the dots game .... So when you refer these much people you will get so much money ....Okie ?

Guru : So ...guys .... This is the time to join it !....at this mid night ... because , if you loose this opportunity , you are may be down the ladder , then you will miss Crores !....

If you don't have money , right now we provide loans , we take all the cards...except your visiting card ...

I want you to think it over and take the decision , " You !....yes the same you !" ....You are man enough to make the decision .

(Implied) : Never go and ask Your Parents !!! ...it should be your decision !...

My Guru , also showed me umpteen number of copies of cheques that he got , and also some photos of favorite personalities standing under a banner with their firms name ...


Guru :It is perfectly legal too , the good thing in this is you can work on this part time after your office hours and you will get confidence !...to speak and deal with people .
So as fast as possible join this !.... Okie ?...
Don't you like to send cheques to your family ...lots and lots of money !...

Okie .... Bye I quietly slipped out of there , while my friends started discussing
" Should we give our office address , or our flat address for the Cheques ... If we get this much money , why do we need a Job ...so we may leave it ...so it’s better to give our flat address"

Irrespective of my dislike for the whole concept , I just stood there and watched with curiosity and shared their thoughts and ambitions . Good for them !....

I am currently grateful for what I get !..... May god bless to have atleast that for the time being !....God knows what is going to happen tomorrow !...



Now my Views Consolidated

1. 
   This is the new trend in the network marketing arena , a small change from the house wife and unemployed section of the population ...to the ever increasing new , modern class of ... youth ...specifically the IT youth of the country ... mainly concentrated in the metros of the south .
2. 
   They have the money , to take spend ...the capacity to take loans ...earn credits ... and moreover ....The Taste ....to earn more .
   
3. They have the tendency to move in groups . When the majority goes for Engineering , They too do . When the majority goes for IT jobs , they too do . When the majority is wishing to go On Site , they too do . So ....what ever one does ...all others will follow ...Just that the chain reaction needs be in some ways started .
   
4. They have an Ego , of being self made ... lucky that they got a job when in campus
   
   So they , the IT Youths are the " New Target "
   If you want to rush after it too , it's nice ....but dear friends , atleast next time ... upon our friendship leave me alone ...
